I hope the world looks different

with you by my side
again.
For right now,
I can’t seem to see in color.
Days comprised of
sloppily composed
petty to-dos
half assed attempts
to check off
these arbitrary tasks
endeavors fruitless
contentment unobtainable
happiness impalpable.
Don’t get me wrong,
I’m doing fine.
Waiting is just hard
for a skeptic.
I taught myself not to hope.
I surrendered my faith
in the search for truth
and here I am
waiting
and hoping
trying to find faith
in you.

how to use:

as common as carbon is a poetic stream of consciousness.
there are 3 categories of “poems”:

(i) heteroglossic synesthesia (complete poems)
(ii) hobonyms (words with no homes)
(iii) mind jerky (thoughts to chew on)

after reading a poem you have 3 options to “turn the page”

“RANDOM” – takes you to a random poetic expression
#hastags – take you to another random poem with the same theme or motif
#category – takes you to a random poem in the same category

“no one can step in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and they are not the same person” – possibly Heraclitus

just as no one can step in the same river twice, no one can have the same experience of “as common as carbon” twice
