I may be a mirror

I am a reflection
of you and you and you and them.

I apologize for the harm,
or shame caused by this.

I try to please,
though there may already be pleasure.

I try to console,
though there may be no need for consolation.

I try to inspire
those who have already found inspiration.

I can’t tell the difference between ego
and a sense of self worth.

Satisfaction stems from desire,
and it’s so easy to be greedy.

Does that make me a bad person,
or just human?

(even that was me turning a phrase to inspire empathy and forgiveness in a selfish attempt to rid myself of guilt)

how to use:

as common as carbon is a poetic stream of consciousness.
there are 3 categories of “poems”:

(i) heteroglossic synesthesia (complete poems)
(ii) hobonyms (words with no homes)
(iii) mind jerky (thoughts to chew on)

after reading a poem you have 3 options to “turn the page”

“RANDOM” – takes you to a random poetic expression
#hastags – take you to another random poem with the same theme or motif
#category – takes you to a random poem in the same category

“no one can step in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and they are not the same person” – possibly Heraclitus

just as no one can step in the same river twice, no one can have the same experience of “as common as carbon” twice
