If I can’t trust myself

can I trust you?
can you trust me?
it hurts to be human
it hurts to err
I indulge
I drink sadness and despair
I breathe smoke, instead of air
my eyes burn from lack of tears
my heart beats fast and weak
when I confront my fears
my blood-stained flesh
is like this ink-stained flesh
as I try to bleed out
my terrors and rage
I’ll make you laugh
I’ll make you cry
I’ll make you wet
and I’ll make you die
share my pain
or run away
I’ll understand
if you cannot stay

how to use:

as common as carbon is a poetic stream of consciousness.
there are 3 categories of “poems”:

(i) heteroglossic synesthesia (complete poems)
(ii) hobonyms (words with no homes)
(iii) mind jerky (thoughts to chew on)

after reading a poem you have 3 options to “turn the page”

“RANDOM” – takes you to a random poetic expression
#hastags – take you to another random poem with the same theme or motif
#category – takes you to a random poem in the same category

“no one can step in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and they are not the same person” – possibly Heraclitus

just as no one can step in the same river twice, no one can have the same experience of “as common as carbon” twice
