What is in front of me
is not always what occupies my thoughts.
They tend to wander
to distant
unreachable places:
fantasies,
delusions of grandeur,
wishful dreaming,
wistful thinking.
Envious of those able to
stave off melancholy with
hope,
passion,
appreciation,
syzygy,
all I have is
a double-edged sword
inscribed with:
“curiosity.”
How to wield it,
I do not know.
